Girls Hip Hop Dance Match

THREE talented teams of hip hop dancers may be on their way to bringing honors anew for the country as they successfully made it to the final round of the World Hip Hop Dance Championship in Las Vegas, Nevada Friday (Saturday, Manila time).

Two-time world champions the Philippine All Stars are once again on track to defend their world title as they finished third in the semi-final round of the competition’s Adult Division.
The team will slug it out in the final round with New Zealand’s Identity and Prestige Dance Club, Canada’s Rockwell Family, Malaysia’s Elecoldxhot, Japan’s Zerogate and F.L.A.T. and Italy’s Break Da Beat.

In the MegaCrew Division, the UP Streetdance Club and the De La Salle Dance Company-Street placed second and fourth, respectively, in the semi-final round to make it to the next level, along with New Zealand’s The Royal Family, Canada’s Praise Team, the Netherlands’ No Escape XXL and Australia’s Academy of Brothers.
Like the Philippine All-Stars, the Royal Family are also two-time champions of this competition who won in this division last year. The finals round of this year’s contest also serves a rematch of sorts with the UP Streetdance Club who placed third to win the bronze medal in this category.
Created in 2002 by Hip Hop International, the World Hip Hop Dance Championship is a prestigious dance competition that has attracted competing teams from the US, Italy, Mexico, France, Japan, Switzerland, Morocco, Philippines, United Kingdom, China, Canada, Germany, Australia, Ireland, Malaysia, India, Colombia, South Africa, Nigeria, New Zealand, Denmark, Spain, Russia, Portugal, Netherlands, Argentina, Brazil, Trinidad and Tobago, Poland and Uruguay.
This year’s competition featured over 2,500 competing dancers representing 40 countries.
